Keep Your Coffee Chlorine-Free!

Happy Friday everyone! As many of you are probably looking forward to a relaxing and tasty cup of coffee tomorrow morning, here’s a little tip — if you use a drip coffee maker, be sure to use non-bleached filters. The bright white ones (which most people use) are chlorine bleached and some of this chlorine will be extracted from the filter during the brewing process!

So instead, opt for healthier filters that are chlorine-free (and often brown like the one pictured here) and keep your morning brew on the up and up. Bonus points for drinking organic ;)

Here is one brand that makes 100% chlorine free filters:  Melitta

Enjoy the last days of April!

    Enjoy your weekend, Annie.

  4. I haven’t made coffee using a drip coffee maker in a while, but this is SO good to know. I am going to pass this on to other people who I know use the white filters. Thank you so much for sharing this!!

  5. AND you can throw those suckers straight into the compost without worry! Even the earthworms approve!
