“The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen. Just listen. Perhaps the most important thing we ever give each other is our attention… A loving silence often has far more power to heal and to connect than the most well-intentioned words.” –Rachel Naomi Remen
Mychelle Dermaceuticals makes a face mask that truly transports your senses to a warm and sunny place instantly! This face mask is appropriately named Tropical Skin Smoother. The two key ingredients in this face mask are Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Cream) Fruit and Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon Zest) Peel. The coconut cream fruit smoothes and softens skin with its rich vitamin, mineral and fatty acid content. Meanwhile, the lemon peel acts as a natural astringent and brightens the skin.
Glycolic acid, derived from rhubarb, is also a very key and powerful anti-aging ingredient, making this mask a great choice for mature skin. I love that this face mask only needs to be left on for 1 MINUTE to experience its benefits!
I’ve been a fan of Mychelle since I found out about them about 2 years ago. I love what the products do have (a lot of fruit-derived ingredients) and what they NEVER have (phthalates, parabens, propylene glycol, ureas, EDTA, fragrances, particles, and artificial colors).
If you’re someone who wants to start using a high-quality natural face mask on a regular basis, but don’t have a lot of extra time, then this is a perfect choice for you!

This is my most favorite smoothie recipe! It’s also VERY nutritious.

- 1 tsp ground flaxseed OR flaxseed oil
- 1 tbsp wheat germ (gives it a nice nutty taste)
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 4-6 raspberries
- 2 strawberries
- 1/2 banana
- 1 tsp honey
Blend on a high speed for 30-60 seconds.
Makes 1 large smoothie.

I recently discovered TIZANE beverages at the Green Festival (www.greenfestivals.org) in Washington, DC. These delicious drinks are 100% organic, caffeine-free, and truly taste home-made! They come in three interesting flavors – Jasmine, Lemon Grass and Hibiscus (this one was my favorite). All three flavors are only about 60-80 calories per bottle!
These tasty blends also free of artificial colors, flavors and preservatives. Personally, I think these drinks have the perfect amount of sweetness, which is derived from the nectar of the blue agave plant. A great thing about this sweetner of choice is the fact that it’s a low glycemic index food. TIZANE also never uses concentrates or powders to create their botanical blends.
Unfortuantely, these yummy and natural thirst-quenchers are not so widely available just yet so if you are lucky enough to come across them I would highly suggest you give them a try!

Green spas are naturally healthy – By limiting toxins in their skin care products and in their spa’s environment, green spas provide a healthier experience.
Green spa treatments are more effective – Synthetically derived skincare products may produce quick results, but they might also cause damage. Natural treatments are gentler and help ensure long-term health and beauty.

I kept reading about these little natural solid perfumes everywhere so I decided I had to try one of them for myself! I ended up choosing the Hawaiian Ruby Guava, which it turns out is mainly a mix of jasmine and grapefruit essential oils in a organic coconut and soy wax base. It figures I would like the Hawaiian Ruby Guava because I love the smell of citrus and jasmine.
This solid perfume is so natural and so convenient AND it truly smells like a tropical vacation! At $8.95, it’s also a great price for a perfume, especially since it seems like it will last a while.
The Hawaiian Guava solid perfume, as well as other scents like Malibu Lemon Blossom and Tahitian Gardenia (2 other really fun scents), come in a 1.2 oz spray as well.
