Best Natural Men’s Products

I have been meaning to this post for a LONG time — some of my favorite beautifying products for the male sector. As I created this list, I intentionally kept price points down and quality and performance high. Here are some of my favorite picks in the following categories:

{Every Man Jack Deodorant in Citrus – around $6}

Cotton extract and witch hazel absorb wetness while the fresh scents of mandarin orange and lemon last all day.

{Aubrey Men’s Stock City Rhythms Shave Cream – around $7}

This shave cream has organic avocado oil and wheat germ oil for a really smooth shave. Cedarwood, sandalwood and bergamot combine for a woodsy and refreshing scent. Camphor, menthol and organic eucalyptus add to the fresh scent and also provide an actual cooling affect on skin.

{Herban Cowboy Dusk Soothing Carrot and Cucumber After Shave Balm – around $6.99}

This is actually my go-to product for razor burn. Relief is pretty much instantaneous.  The scent is sweet and earthy.

AO Shampoo

{Avalon Organics Thickening Shampoo – around $10.99}

Is there anyone on the planet that doesn’t want stronger, healthier hair? This shampoo has the perfect ingredients (biotin, saw palmetto, wheat protein and vitamin E) for a healthy scalp and thicker locks.

{Brooklyn Grooming Vegan Fort Greene Hair Pomade – $26}

With a pure and simple mixture of shea butter and a few ultra nourishing oils, a small dab of this pomade goes a long way to style and moisturize hair. The mixture of rosemary, bergamot and lavender oils smell delightful and are also very nourishing to the scalp.

{john masters organics lip calm – around $6.00}

This lip balm contains rosemary, gingko biloba and rich African shea butter for a trusted remedy for the driest of lips. The taste and scent is reminiscent of creamsicle in a good, not overpowering way.

{HoS by Branch + Vine Cleansing Calm Foot Spray – $9.00}

I created this foot spray for House of Steep‘s line. It actually discourages and decreases foot odor. It also relaxes sore and tired feet with a mix of therapeutic essential oils.

I have to admit that part of my judging criteria is whether or not I find myself stealing these products from my husband… I can testify that these all get stolen regularly. I had him weigh in as I created this list and he concurs with my picks. Thank you Dylan for always being my guinea pig :)

You can find all (or at least most) at your local Whole Foods or your local health food store. This list could go on and on so just let me know if you would like any other recommendations!

Natural Beauty Buyer’s Guide

This list contains some of my favorite natural brands and items in a variety of categories. They are perfect natural choices for yourself or someone you really love (I say “really love” because these products are EXCELLENT) Happy shopping! :)

REN ~ Frankincense Revitalising Night Cream ($55)

A supremely rich and therapeutic night cream with one of my favorite natural ingredients – frankincense! Frankincense is anti-inflammatory and highly effective at healing scars. The scent has also become one of my favorites.  Back to REN – I love so many of their products and I’m making it a point to try them all!

By Nieves ~ Face Fix ($32)

This is my latest face scrub. It’s super earthy – ingredients include organic white willow, organic neem leaf powder, & organic rose petal powder just to name a few. The consistency is perfect for exfoliating skin effectively, which to me means that it’s not too rough, but it definitely feels like you’re accomplishing something! I love that it can also double as a mask – just add water, honey, or yogurt.

The Organic Pharmacy ~ Carrot Butter Cleanser ($50)

I adore the look of their website and packaging, not to mention the high quality of all of their amazing products. This cleanser is perfect for the winter with skin softening ingredients like jojoba oil and cocoa butter. It even takes off eye makeup! I’ve also tried their Flower Petal Deep Cleanser and Exfoliating Mask – it’s multi-functional (like the By Nieves), which I love because why buy 2 products if you can buy 1 really great one?

Buddha Nose ~ I Booster Spray ($24)

For the germaphobes in your life (half joking) or just anyone who likes spraying lovely smelling mixtures that are also beneficial to your health. I’ve mentioned it before here and I’m talking about it again because it’s definitely one of my favorite natural products, especially in the winter months. A spray or two of this mixture and it just instantly perks you up internally and externally!

eos ~ lip balm in pomegranate raspberry ($3.29)

Great flavor, great packaging and a great price! This one is 95% organic, 100% natural and 100% effective at keeping lips moisturized. It really takes lip balm up a notch without upping the typical price tag.

California Baby ~ Welcome Baby Tote ($34.99)

One of my fav brands for babies. This is perfect for the new moms in your life. Set includes Calming™ Shampoo & Bodywash, Diaper Rash Cream, Non-Talc Powder, on-Burning & Calming™ Diaper Area Wash Spray, Natural Wool Sea Sponge, and Calendula Cream.

Aubrey Organics ~ City Rhythms Face Scrub ($8.93) & City Rhythms Shave Cream ($7.30)

And last but not least, some natural products for the men.With a fresh and woodsy scent (think cedar, sandalwood & bergamot), this scrub is ideal for smooth skin – it clears pores and loosens ingrown hairs hence preventing razor burn. Combined with Aubrey’s shave cream, it’s the perfect pairing to keep the guys naturally beautified as well!  There are other scent options (North Woods & Spice Island), but Dylan and I both agree this one is the best.

I could go on and on (and maybe I will in another post soon), but here’s some natural favorites to get you started!

Blemishes Be Gone…Naturally!

Here is my take on three natural blemish treatments:

  • derma e Very Clear® Spot Blemish Treatment by derma e is such an excellent all-around treatment for problem skin. It has ingredients like tea tree, willow bark, chamomile, lavender and rosewood to fight bacteria while also reducing redness and inflammation. This treatment definitely clears up existin g blemishes and prevents new ones. I really love that this product goes on clear and that you really can’t over do it. No matter how much or how often I put it on, it never left my skin feeling dry. It is truly an excellent breakout treatment for all skin types. I have also been using the Very Clear® Cleansing Scrub, which helps to unclog pores and remove dead skin, making it a perfect precursor to the blemish treatment. The Very Clear® line also has a cleanser and moisturizer if you like using a complete skin care line. This skin-clearing formula costs about $11.50 and is definitely well worth the reasonable price.
  • Aubrey Organics Aubrey Organics Amino Derm Gel Clear Skin Complex has a light and fresh citrus scent and also goes on clear. It has great natural ingredients like burduck, sage, ivy, sea salt and organic lemon peel. This complex successfully dissolves dirt and oil deposits on the skin, leaving pores clean without drying out the skin. It is a great choice for adults with problem skin, as well as teenagers. As with most breakout treatments, the best time to apply this complex is before bed so it can get to work while you get some rest. Aubrey also makes a 3-step skin care line for oily skin, as well as a Natural Herbal Seaclay Mask that is ideal for balancing and purifying oily skin. Aubrey Organics makes skin care lines for normal, dry, and sensitive skin. The Clear Skin Complex can be used in combination with any of the lines and it only costs about $7.95 for a 2 oz tube.
  • Burt’s BeesBurt’s Bees Herbal Blemish Stick has a rolling applicator, which applies the liquid treatment directly and easily to the skin. This treatment is completely clear so it can even be applied under makeup. I would suggest this blemish treatment to people with oily skin rather than dry skin since it contains alcohol (from yellow corn). Some of the therapeutic ingredients include tea tree oil, eucalyptus oil, lemon oil, and fennel oil, which is the overriding scent of the treatment. I do have to warn that this treatment can sometimes burn or tingle a little bit, but my skin did not show any signs of irritation after the initial application. However, both the derma e and Aubrey treatments gave me more obvious improvements in problem areas within one night of use. Burt’s Bees Herbal Blemish Stick retails for about $8.50.

No matter what blemish treatment you choose, it’s always best to go natural because these treatments are less harsh and use a more holistic approach. Also, remember to leave blemishes alone as much as possible! Easier said than done, but please resist the attempt to be your own personal esthetician and put one of these natural blemish treatments on instead!

A Natural Lift from Aubrey Organics

Lumessence Lift by Aubrey Organics combines CoQ10, algae extract, and oat protein to help tighten skin, form new collagen, and fight visual signs of aging! It has a light, plant-like scent and a really great consistency that is easily absorbed by the skin. I could see improvements in the luminosity of my skin immediately. I would highly suggest this product to anyone looking for a more affordable, yet natural anti-aging cream that can be used day or night.

A Natural Blush

Aubrey Organics Powder Blushes feature silk powder, which is antimicrobial, absorbs oil, and is high in amino acids. I love these blushes because they are so soft, long-lasting, and look really natural. The coloring is from beets and radishes – you can’t get more natural than that! The packaging is really great too and makes for easier application.

Natural Lip Color

Aubrey Organics Natural Lip Sheer Tints are a great natural choice for lip color. Organic coconut oil, shea butter, and jojoba oil keep lips shiny and smooth. Meanwhile, organic food-based flavors like organic peppermint and strawberry oils keep lips naturally fresh and sweet. The coloring in the tints come from sustainable sources, including beet powder, caramel, and radish.  These natural tints are available in eight shades and they retail for only about $7.50!

Aloe – one of nature’s best skin foods

I recently used Aubrey Organics Pure Aloe Vera and it reminded me just how much I love using aloe on my skin. Aubrey is one of the older and better natural skin care companies around today. For this great natural beauty product, Aubrey simply combines organic aloe vera with grapefruit seed extract and vitamin E (two natural preservatives). The Pure Aloe Vera is so excellent as a daily moisturizer for all skin types. It’s also one of the best remedies for sunburns and it’s especially lovely on summer skin when it’s stored in the refrigerator for a cooler splash of natural goodness!
